June 19th, 2012

The Group 3 Craven Plate is set to run at Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday October 6, 2012.

Run over a distance of 2,000 metres, the 2012 Craven Plate is worth $125,000 in prize money.

The 2012 Craven Plate is open to horses of all ages and is run under weight for age conditions.

Run as part of Epsom Handicap Day, the 2012 Craven Plate shares its program with the Group 1 Epsom Handicap, Group 1 The Metropolitan, Group 1 Flight Stakes, Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes, Group 2 Premiere Stakes and Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes.

My Kingdom Of Fife may well return to the 2012 Craven Plate after winning last year’s race.

The seven-year-old gelding has not had a run since the 2011 Craven Plate due to an injury sustained in the race.

My Kingdom Of Fife has won seven of his 25 race starts and has earned more than $1 million in prize money during his career.

Trainer Chris Waller is hopeful the gelding will make a full recovery in time for the upcoming spring campaign.

Betting for the 2012 Craven Plate will be available online closer to the race date.
